Choosing the right type of binding for your project
When presenting your documents, the right binding style can make a big difference to both appearance and usability. Whether you are producing a business report, training manual or personal project, choosing the right finish will help your document look professional and work as intended.
Wire Binding
Wire binding uses strong metal wires to create a durable, professional finish. Documents open flat, making this a practical choice for manuals, reports, notebooks and presentations. It provides a permanent finish and is our most popular binding option.
Comb Binding
Comb binding uses a plastic comb that can be reopened using a binding machine, allowing pages to be added, removed or replaced. Documents also open flat, making them easy to read or photocopy. It is our most cost-effective binding option and is ideal for documents that may need updating.
Thermal Tape Binding
Thermal tape binding uses glue and a black binding strip to create a clean, permanent finish. Unlike wire and comb binding, the pages do not open completely flat. Its neat appearance makes it a good choice for proposals, reports and presentations.
Other Binding Options
We also offer fast-turnaround stapled booklets for smaller documents, events and presentations, with a choice of paper weights and finishes. For larger projects, we can also produce paperback and perfect-bound books. These require a longer turnaround but provide a professional, book-style finish. We are continually adding more printing options to our website. Please contact us if you cannot find the binding style or product you need.
