What should I include in a wedding invitation pack?

Save the Date card
A Save the Date card gives guests advance notice before the formal invitations are ready. It normally includes:
The names of the couple
The wedding date
The general location
A note that the formal invitation will follow
Main wedding invitation
The main invitation should clearly explain who is invited, where the wedding is taking place and when guests should arrive.
A flat invitation works well for concise information. A folded invitation provides more space for the ceremony, reception, timings and RSVP details.
RSVP card
An RSVP card makes it easier to collect the information you need from guests. Consider asking for:

Dietary or accessibility requirements
Include a clear response deadline and explain whether guests should reply by post, email, telephone or through your wedding website.
Guest information card
A separate information card prevents the main invitation becoming crowded. It can include:

Choosing sizes for the invitation pack
Using different sizes helps guests understand which card is the main invitation and which cards contain supporting information.
Main invitation
A5, A6, DL or a square format are popular choices, depending on the amount of wording.
RSVP card
A6 or A7 normally fits neatly inside the main invitation envelope.
Information card
Choose a size that provides enough room without making the wording too small.

Silk or uncoated card?
Coated silk card
Silk card has a smooth finish with a slight sheen. It works particularly well for photographs, colourful floral artwork and designs containing strong printed backgrounds.
Uncoated card
Uncoated card has a natural matt paper finish. It suits simple text, rustic designs, understated colours and watercolour-style artwork.
Preparing the artwork
Supply a press-quality PDF wherever possible.
Add 3mm bleed when colours, photographs or backgrounds print to the edge.
Keep names, dates and important wording at least 4mm inside the finished edge.
